The SCT 2" focuser is for the 8" and 9.25" scopes. The 2.5" focuser is for the 10" and larger SCTs. Go to focuser.com and he has a ton of info on his focusers. Ron is a super guy to do business with. The focusers aren't cheap but they are built like a tank. Fit and finish are superb. The external focuser assembly then threads directly onto the 2" or the 3.25"/3.28" male SCT threads on rear of the telescope. External focusers designed for SCTs have a short overall length so they can swing through the fork mount of the telescope.
